PHX3D5016

The PHX3D5016 is a key component of the direct time of flight (dTOF) system-in-package (SiP) developed by ST under the project code name “MZ-Max.” This laser driver is a versatile 2-channel device that offers the flexibility of selectable single channel operation. It is capable of pulsing two discrete VCSELs in the system, either sequentially or simultaneously, based on control signals received from the host through an SPI interface and an LVDS trigger. The PHX3D5016 meets class 1 laser safety criteria as a standalone IC, featuring real-time monitoring, fail-safe operation, and fault reporting over GPIO and SPI. This device requires three power supplies: VDDIO, VDDA, and VBAT (Input of the Boost), and it comes in a compact 2.04*2.84mm WLCSP package.
